Two courts in Xinjiang Province, China, sentenced to 20 people who are suspected of terrorism and separatism. China imposed prison sentences varied, from five years to life. As reported Yaxin, Thursday (28/03/2013), the Chinese media did not mention the identity of the 20 suspects. Some media also suspect they are the majority ethnic Uighur Muslim religion because the event was the arrest took place in Xinjiang.

The 20 suspects were allegedly spreading terror and extreme ideology and formed a militant organization. They were accused of inciting violence and separatism by using media such as the Internet, mobile phones and other digital devices.

The suspects are believed to have an affiliation with militant groups in East Turkestan and Uzbekistan militants. The two militants were indeed labeled as a terrorist organization by China.

Province in the northwest region of China is considered quite vulnerable and often troubled. There has been a series of violence in Xinjiang since July 2009 between ethnic Uighurs and Han that killed 200 people and injured 1,700. In 2012 then, there is also violence in the city of Kashgar, Xinjiang, causing 12 people dead. Violence was also rumored to involve ethnic Uighurs.\
