Energy drinks known properties make eye sight. But the effects of heart palpitations because of its caffeine content. This can lead to abnormalities in heart rate and systolic blood pressure increased. The team of researchers from the United States analyzed data from seven studies that have been published previously. The goal is to see the correlation consumption of energy drinks can affect heart health.

This set of studies involving people aged 18-45 years with a healthy body condition. The first part in a collection of analyzes examined the QT interval, heart rate segment of the electrocardiogram in 93 people who have consumed one to three cans of energy drinks. They found that participants QT interval is 10 milliseconds longer. Longer QT beats often associated with arrhythmia disease, heart-related diseases. In this disease there are three categories: too rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), too slow (bradycardia), or irregular.

"Physicians in general concerned if the patient has an additional 30 milliseconds in the QT interval from baseline," said Dr Sachin Shah, as head researcher and assistant professor at the University of the Pacific, the United States told the Daily Mail (03/22/2013). The results were presented at the conference of the American Heart Association's Epidemiology and Prevention also found that systolic blood pressure, blood pressure where the heart beats while pumping blood increased an average of 3.5 points in the set of 132 participants.

"The correlation between energy drinks and increased systolic blood pressure was very reassuring and worrisome. More studies should be done to examine the impact on heart rate, "added Dr. Shah. He also cautions to people with high blood pressure or long QT syndrome should consider the consumption of energy drinks. Because energy drinks also contain caffeine, people who do not habitually consume too much caffeine can increase blood terkanan excessive.
