According to the Head of the Commercial Division of PLN Beny Marbun, general national electricity consumption rose on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 20:30 to 21:30, compared to the same time last Saturday.

"Especially for Jakarta expenses decreased quite significantly," he said while talking to Liputan6.com Beny, Sunday (03/24/2013). Beny explain the increase in expenses was likely influenced by two things: a soccer match between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia at 19:00 to 21:00 pm, broadcast live by television stations.

The second reason is that the weather is generally hot enough so as to encourage people turn on air conditioning that consumes considerable power. According to PLN monitoring, electric load at 21.00 as follows:

On March 16, 2013, the electrical load reached 1220 and on March 23, 2013 in the amount of 1330 or an increase of 110 MW.

d. Central Sumatra (Sumatra, Riau)
On March 16, 2013, electricity consumption in the region reached 1001 MW and on March 23, 2013 approximately 1000.8 MW or 0.2 MW down.

e. Specific to Jakarta
Electricity consumption on March 16, 2013 about 3401 MW and 3165 MW March 23 or the load drops 236 MW.

"This is likely to occur because people in Jakarta are much more exposed to the campaign duibandaing maryarakat program in the area," he explained.

On the Earth Hour program last year, the national electricity load dropped 575 MW and 214 MW load down Jakarta.
